Guest Rooms Overview

“Guest rooms” is hardly an adequate description for the accommodations at this inn in Chadds Ford, PA. (High-rise hotels have guest rooms; we have history!)

You enter the inn through an 1860 extension to the home, and depending on which room you pick, you make your way through a 1759 dining room and up to rooms built in that era, or immediately walk up an 1800’s winder staircase into a “more modern” set of rooms.

We are often asked if the inn is haunted. It is said that Joseph Lancaster, the first innkeeper’s ghost, wanders from room to room on the second floor. People sometimes see his flickering lantern go from one room to the next. In order to do that, of course, he needs to walk through walls. Whether or not a ghost wanders our halls, he certainly doesn’t intrude upon the restful atmosphere we work so hard to maintain for our guests.
